InfraPPP will work together with Spanish engineering firms Tepro Engineering and Inclam.

The project is framed within the Ghana Commercial Agriculture Project (“GCAP”), a US$100m Government of Ghana project, funded jointly by the World Bank and the USAID.

The contract, lasting 5 months and with an approx. value of 400,000 USD, is part of the efforts to develop the commercial agriculture sector in Ghana.

This project will analyze the existing and future needs for warehouses in North Ghana, defining specific PPP solutions to this problem. In the last years, PPP schemes are starting to be utilized in Agriculture, with multilateral donors empowering this new field of development.

Alvaro de la Maza, Partner of InfraPPP, commented:

InfraPPP Advisory Services is further developing its relationships with international finance institutions (IFIs) and national governments in Africa to become the number one advisory firm on PPPs and project development in Africa.

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has set up a US$ 10 billion fund, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), to help country members to finance poverty reduction programmes and develop projects. The fund is being maintained as Waqf (Islamic endowment/ Trust).

The fund currently has raised USD 2.215 billion, which constitutes 22 per cent of the approved initial capital of USD10 billion. Saudi Arabia and the IDB have paid USD1 billion and USD 650 million respectively.

Within this context and using funding from the ISFD, the Government of Benin and the IDB are working together to develop a project in the capital of Benin, Cotonou. For this purpose, InfraPPP Advisory Services has been selected to prepare a Feasibility study of options to create a project commercially viable.

Jose de la Maza, Partner of InfraPPP, commented:

“We are very thankful for the trust we are receiving from the IDB being in this shortlist. This ISFD is envisioning a very creative solution to partner with governments to develop successful projects in developing areas. We believe we are the right partner to the IDB to present a rich set of options to develop the proposed plot of land”.
